NK Construction Ltd are a construction company, where personal data collection is uncommon. However, on the rare occasions that we do collect any personal data, we are the Data Controller for data processed by the staff or other appointed Officers.

Our approach to personal data

We respect an individual’s fundamental right to privacy.  In general, NK Construction endeavours to be open and transparent with individuals when processing their personal data.

We will only collect personal data for the following reasons:-

  • Staff administration and training
  • Accounts and records
  • In conjunction with a guarantee certificate on a product supplied
  • Contractual agreements
  • When a complaint or enquiry is made
  • The protection of staff, premises and company property (namely CCTV)

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collect it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your information for an unrelated purpose, we will contact you and request your consent to do so.

Please note that we may process your personal information without your knowledge or consent, where this is required or permitted by law (e.g. CCTV footage, vehicle tracking).

We will only store your personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and to comply with our legal obligations. The timescales that we hold records for defined within our Retention Policy.

CCTV- more information

NK Construction’s premises have CCTV and you may be recorded when you visit them. CCTV is there to help provide security and to protect both you and NK Construction staff. CCTV will only be viewed when necessary (e.g. to detect or prevent crime), and footage is only stored temporarily in line with our retention policy. The only exception to this would be if footage has been highlighted for review.

The Right to be forgotten

You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances, for example, where the personal information we collected is no longer necessary for the original purpose. This will need to be balanced against other factors however. For example, we may have legal obligations which mean we cannot comply with your request.
