Job Summary:

 

This role will suit someone who is looking to develop their career and is keen to progress. Whilst reporting to the Directors, you will ensure that the financial position of construction projects is accurately reported and controlled effectively. You will manage the contractual relationships between the various parties involved in any building or civil engineering project.

 

You’ll ideally have experience of building and civils projects, JCT and NEC4 Option A, B & C contracts.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor shall:

  • Attend regular progress meetings with Client and Design Team.
  • Prepare and submit Valuation / Payment Assessments.
  • Prepare and submit Variations / Compensation Events.
  • Prepare project cost reports.
  • Prepare subcontract payment certificates.
  • Prepare and submit Final Accounts.
  • As required assist with the taking off of quantities for tendering purposes change as circumstances dictate to include any other duties requested by management.
  • Prepare and update cashflow/expenditure profiles.
  • Re-measure BoQ items and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate rates/prices with LO subcontractors.
  • Set-up and keep up to date RFI/EWN Registers in conjunction with Site Manager.
  • Periodically review any disruption the variation work has had on site progress with Site Manager.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documents.
  • Report on buying gains/losses including the reporting of any future potential financial problems.
  • Periodically review projects with the Directors.

 

Desirable Qualifications / Experience / Personal Attributes

Full driving licence.

Commercially astute.

Previous Quantity Surveying experience is essential.

Experience in building and civils projects, JCT and NEC4 Option A, B & C contracts.

Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.

Salary and Package to be agreed on experience.
