We at N.K. Construction Ltd are an experienced local family run business formed in 1980 as NK Joinery Ltd. Originally formed as carpentry and joinery specialists‚ we quickly evolved into building works both new build and renovations. Just a few of our past and present clients include the Isle of Man Board of Education‚ Dept of Infrastructure‚ Dept of Local Government and the Environment‚ DHSS‚ Douglas Corporation‚ The Church and of course the general public. 
During the 31+ years our company has been operating, we have carried out many of the various elements required in the Building Industry. We have completed internal works comprising the replacement of bathrooms and kitchens, re-wiring, plumbing works, decoration and other various building items at The Bretney Estate, Jurby, Phase 4, for The Isle of Man Government Department of Local Government and the Environment. This followed on from Phase 3 which was external works comprising of replacement fascia and rainwater goods, render repairs, undergrounding of electricity and telecom supplies, dashing and external decoration, a contract that was completed on time and on budget. The Bretney Estate comprises 64 no. properties. Phase 3 was a 60 week contract and Phase 4 was a 92 week contract. The two contracts ran concurrently and proved very successful. We also undertook Phase 5 Environmental Improvement works at the same estate.
We have also undertaken the replacement fencing works around Ronaldsway Airport. This comprised the installation of approx 7km of new high security fencing, together with a security checkpoint. We have successfully completed contracts for the DHSS, these being the Palatine GP Surgery, a new Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre and a new GP Surgery at Peel.
We are currently in the process of completing a large office block in Ramsey for a private client, whilst also constructing a further office block in Douglas.
In keeping with the ever changing needs of the public and private sectors, a uPVC division was formed in 2002, offering first class materials from Sheerframe uPVC windows, doors, conservatories and curtain walling, to Celuform uPVC fascia bargeboards and soffits in a range of colours. We are also now the only Approved Contractor on the island for ARP Mustang Continuous Aluminium Guttering. This is the only BBA Approved continuous aluminium guttering system available.
In 2008 we purchased the name, assets and goodwill of Curphey Brothers (Builders), a well known, long established local construction company, due to the retirement of its Principal Mr Stuart Curphey. We believe that the acquisition of Curphey Brothers (Builders) has further expanded our expertise within the various elements of the Construction Industry and allowed us to offer an improved service to our many varied Clients both existing and future, by combining the various areas of expertise within both of our companies.
We are current holders of both ISO9001 for Quality Control and OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety. Our Managing Director, Les Nicol is also the current President of the Isle of Man Employers Federation.
At present we have 50 directly employed personnel, including a Finance Director, Commercial Director, a Quantity Surveyor, 6 no. Site Managers and various foremen, tradesmen, skilled labourers, labourers and office admin staff.

Charity and Sporting Links
We are very proud to support local sporting clubs and regularly sponsor teams and competitions. We currently sponsor the 3 times TT winner Ian Hutchinson, the RNLI Port Erin raft race, the Isle of Man Football Association Hospital Cup competition, Corinthians AFC Combination team and also the Ellan Vannin Gymnastic Club.
We have also raised funds for the Craig Heartstrong Foundation, Ballacottier Rainbow Room Mini Bus Appeal and the Children's Liver Disease Research Foundation.
